It’s nice to look back sometimes at cherished memories. Sam is one if them. I did have a dog before him for a short while called Tiny, he was a Dalmation, which is anything but tiny 😉 He disappeared one day when I was around 4 years old, we heard later that he had wandered onto the neighbours property who then shot him dead. All I can remember of Tiny now is that day when we were all walking through the bush at the back of our property calling out for him. He never came back 🙁
My parents decided I needed a new dog, so they took me to see a litterof Australian Silky Terriors. Typical of me, I picked the runt of the litter! But he was fantastic, and he was my best friend for many years until his death.
Our family has had many dogs over the years, and many I remember fondly, especially our last Border Collie called Lassie, she was a real treasure, and Noi Nga the first dog Nok and I had since we married. But Sam was my dog, and my best friend. Many dogs have come and gone since his death before I found a dog that has followed him as a quality friend, and that’s Coco 🙂
